49er Express: E-mailing Students

When using the e-mail tool in 49er Express, there are two ways you can e-mail your students. You can e-mail your students individually or as a group.

Step 1: Composing an E-mail
  1. On your 49er Express home page click the Access My Course List link under My Courses.
Step 2: Composing an E-mail cont.
  1. Under Courses I’m Teaching, click the title of the course that you want to e-mail your students from. NOTE: Your screen will change to Course Homepage.
  2. Under Course Tools click E-mail.
Step 3: Composing an E-mail cont.

The E-mail Members screen will open.

  1. To e-mail all members, click Select All and then click Send E-mail.Note: To send e-mail to one or more members, select their check boxes and click Send E-mail.
Step 4: Composing an E-mail cont.

The Compose E-mail window will open.

NOTE: The “To:” text field area will not contain the students names in your class that you have selected to e-mail. The “To:” text field area can be used to add an additional student who is not in the class to the e-mail you have composed.

  1. In the “Enter Subject:” text field enter a subject.
  2. In the “Enter Message:” text field type a message to your students.
  3. Click Send.
Step 5: Composing an E-mail cont.

The Compose E-mail window will tell you how many recipients(s) you have emailed.

  1. Click OK.

The Compose E-mail window will close and you will return to the E-mail Members screen.
